Who is responsible
Image SEO for AI is published by SWNG, 66 rue de Rome, 75008 Paris, France, which is responsible for the processing described on this page (the "data controller"). You can reach us at hello@imageseoforai.com.
Your images
When you add images to Image SEO for AI, they are opened, checked, compressed and described by your own browser, using your device's processing power. They are never sent to our servers or to anyone else's. We never see, store or have access to your images, nor to what you write about them: product names, alt text, keywords, GTIN codes, file names, brand and copyright.
Your images stay in your browser's memory while the page is open and are discarded when you close or reload it. The files you download are saved by your browser, on your device.
The page's security settings back this up: they only let it run its own code, and its image processing can't connect to anything.
The Shopify product image audit
When you audit a Shopify product page, your browser asks that store for the product's public data and downloads its images directly from the store and from Shopify's servers. These requests don't go through our servers: we don't see the address you enter, the product or its images. They are sent without cookies and without the address of our page; like any website you visit, the store and Shopify see your IP address.
The images are checked in your browser's memory and discarded when you close or reload the page. This page is the only one allowed to connect to other websites, and only to read.
Settings saved on your device
To save you time on your next visit, the tool remembers a few settings in your browser's local storage: the file name style (dashes or underscores), the brand, copyright notice and website you entered, and whether "Keep Google's AI tag" is on.
The image schema generator and the alt text export also remember what you typed in them, on your device: the base address of your images, your credits and currency, and the platform you chose.
This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can delete it at any time by emptying those fields, or by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Audience measurement, without cookies
We count visits ourselves, on our own server, with Ahoy, an open-source analytics library. It tells us how many people use Image SEO for AI, where they come from and which pages they read, so we can improve the site. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device: a visit is recognised for up to 4 hours from your IP address, with its last part removed, and the description your browser gives of itself.
What is recorded
- The pages you visit and their language, the page that brought you here and any campaign tags in the address
- Your browser, operating system and type of device
- Your IP address, with its last part removed
- Three events: when images are added to the tool, when it has finished optimizing them and when they are downloaded, with how many (and how many it couldn't process). Never your images, their names or anything you type.
Legal basis, recipients and retention
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used, to improve it (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). This data stays with us, in our database at our host Scalingo, in France. It isn't shared with anyone, used for advertising or used to follow you on other sites, and it is kept for 13 months at most. You can object to it at any time by writing to us.
Server logs
Like any website, the server keeps technical logs when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the date and time and the page requested, and, depending on the host's settings, your browser type and the referring page. They are used only to keep the service running and secure, for example to investigate errors or abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). Our host keeps them for one year, the period French law sets for hosting providers and the maximum the CNIL recommends, then deletes them. They are not used to identify or profile visitors.
Our host is Scalingo SAS, 15 avenue du Rhin, 67100 Strasbourg, France, whose servers are in France.
If you write to us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you, and keep them no longer than needed for that conversation.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You can also set out instructions for what happens to your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to hello@imageseoforai.com. We answer within one month.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (cnil.fr).
Changes
If the way Image SEO for AI works changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
